All of us love someone. A family member, a friend, a significant other, a pet, etc. Love is very powerful and can be confusing at times. While researching how to understand love, I came across an article which states that understanding is more important than love. Jeffrey Burnstein wrote this article and says that many people love others, but do not fully understand them as people. Willingness to understand is very important and if you are not willing to know more about a person to help you comprehend, than you do not truly love them. I agree with him, and believe that love and understanding go hand in hand. If you do not agree with me, that is okay. I would just like you to read his article and see what you think.
Here it is!

I agree that it is very important to understand the people whom you love. The article by Jeffrey Burnstein was very interesting and informational. As I was reading your blog post and the article I couldn't help but think about something. If people would try to understand their partners and work on some of the issues that they do not agree on, there would probably be a lot less divorces than there are today.
ReplyDeleteI agree with this but I have never personally loved a significant other but I am very close to my family members. I think it really does help to understand your family members, like whether to mess with them at certain times or talk to them. Nice job!
ReplyDeleteI agree with you. You have to fully understand and know a person before you can fully love them. I guess you can love a stranger but not in the same way as you would love a family member, pet, or significant other.
ReplyDeleteThat is very true. You can many different types of love like say you love someone like a friend which makes it different than loving someone that is your husband or wife. Before you can truly love someone you need to love yourself. It is sometimes hard for me to think that way because I do not know what true love really is. I mean is it even real? How do you know that is the one for you?
